Vietnam Airlines offers check-in options.

If you arrive at the airport before or after check-in, Vietnam Airlines check-in offers the following options:

Web Check-in.
Kiosk Check-in.
In-town check-in.
Airport Counter Check-in.

Can you tell me what the latest check-in time is at Vietnam Airlines?

Passengers should consider the following times when flying with Vietnam Airlines:

Opening time of check-in counters:

Flights within the country – 2 hours before STD (Scheduled Time of Departure).
From Vietnam, international flights depart 3 hours before standard time.
It is recommended to arrive 2-3 hours before STD if you are flying from outside Vietnam.

Recommended airport arrival time:

Domestic flights – 60 minutes before departure.
International flights – 120 minutes before departure.

Closing time at check-in counters:

40 minutes before STD for domestic flights.
Flights from Europe to the rest of the world – 50 minutes before scheduled departure.
International flights from Europe – depart from London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, or Frankfurt International Airport 60 minutes before STD.
It is 15 minutes before STD that the boarding gate closes.

The flight cannot be taken if you do not check in on time. If you do not check in on time, the ticket may also become invalid for travel based on the fare conditions. You must carry your traditional paper ticket or eTicket Receipt at all times on domestic and international flights. A change fee and/or fare difference may apply.

Vietnam Airlines Web Check-in

The Vietnam Airlines web check-in system is available online 24 hours before flight departure. Please note that online check-in is only available to passengers with confirmed bookings and valid e-tickets. A passenger whose flight is operated by another airline, or whose flight is code-shared between Vietnam Airlines and another airline, should contact the airline operating the flight in order to check in, or come to the departure airport to complete the check-in process.

Kiosk Check-in at the Airport

The following airports offer kiosk check-in 24 hours before departure:

On domestic flights, up to 45 minutes before departure:

Da Nang – International Airport of Da Nang (DAD).
Hanoi – Hanoi Bai International Airport (HAN).
Ho Chi Minh City – International Airport Tan Son Nhat (SGN).
Nha Trang – Na San International Airport (CXR).
Up to 70 minutes before departure on international flights:
Hanoi – International Airport, NOI Bai (HAN).
Ho Chi Minh City International Airport – Tan Son Nhat (SGN).
Frankfurt International Airport, Frankfurt (FRA).
Fukuoka-Fukuoka International Airport (FUK).
Osaka-Kasai International Airport (KIX).
Tokyo-Narita Airport (NRT).

Check-in at the kiosk is not available for passengers who:

Business lounge service is required.
Infants under 2 years old should not be traveled with.
Vietnam Airlines blacklists them.
You must have a verified international payment card.
Passengers must travel in groups of at least five.
Requested special needs (except special meals).
Seats selected during kiosk check-in can be changed at the check-in counter. Baggage, if any, can be checked in at the Web Check-in Counter. Passengers with only hand baggage departing from Vietnam airports can proceed directly to the security/immigration area, without stopping at the check-in counter.

Airport Counter Check-in

The check-in counter opens and closes according to the following schedule.

Important notes:

If flight schedules change, check-in time will be adjusted.
The timing of check-in also depends on each individual airport and carrier.
Arrive early at the airport for check-in, security checks, and immigration procedures.

Depending On Your Fare Conditions, Failure To Check-In On Time May Also Result In:

Making your ticket invalid for travel or becoming non-refundable because of restrictions on changes. You will need to make another booking and purchase another ticket.
The new applicable fare may require a change fee and/or fares difference.
Due to potential traffic delays, check-in time and security screening, passengers are recommended to be at the airport at least 120 minutes before departure of domestic flights and 180 minutes before departure of international flights. At each priority level, standby passengers are handled according to the “first comes, first served” method.

In-town check-in

Passengers traveling by domestic flight departing from Hanoi-Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) on the same day may check in town up to two hours before departure. Those passengers who require special assistance (e.g., children traveling alone, passengers who have purchased cabin seats for baggage, wheelchair users, etc.) are not eligible for the service.
A fee is charged for in-town check-in, which enables passengers to obtain their boarding passes and drop off their checked baggage (infants are exempt, VAT is not included).
A boarding pass costs 30,000 VND.
A boarding pass and checked baggage cost VND 60,000.
Additional checked baggage costs VND 45,000 for additional checked baggage.

Vietnam Airlines’ boarding sequence is:

The first passengers on board are those with mobility assistance.
The next group of passengers to board is Economy Class.
Please note that passengers in Business Class, Premium Economy Class, Platinum/Gold/Titan, and SkyTeam Elite Plus/Elite can board their flights whenever they like. This is as long as they do so before the boarding gates close.
Vietnam Airlines closes the boarding gates 15 minutes before departure. Late arrivals will not be permitted to travel.
