Can you tell me what the minimum check-in time is for Qantas Airways?

To achieve on-time performance, Qantas Airways recommends checking in in advance of the minimum check-in time for your flight. The minimum check-in time for your flight depends on your itinerary, terminal, and operating carrier. The minimum check-in time for your flight varies depending on your itinerary and operating carrier.

  • For domestic flights,
    • 30 minutes prior to departure – QF 400 and above, and QF5000-QF5999 (Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar).
    • 45 minutes before departure – International flights connect with domestic flights.
    • 60 minutes before departure – domestic flights QF001-QF399 (departing from an Australian international airport).
  • For international flights,
    • 60 minutes before departure – Airline passengers traveling in First or Business class on flights QF001-QF399 (international Qantas flights at all Australian international airports) and international Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar.
    • 90 minutes before departure – Premium Economy and Economy class passengers on flights QF001-QF399 (international Qantas flights at all Australian international airports).

Unless you meet the minimum check-in time for your flight, you will not be able to travel. You may also lose your fare if you fail to check in on time (if you wish to travel, you must make a new booking and buy a new ticket), or you may have to pay the difference between the original fare and the new fare along with a change fee if you fail to check-in on time.
