What is the Jetstar Airways check-in process?
To make the Jetstar Airways check-in process as simple and convenient as possible, Jetstar Airways offers several options. To check-in, you can choose from:
- Online Check-in.
- Mobile check-in.
- Kiosk Check-in.
- Airport Counter Check-in.
JetStar check-in times?
If you fail to check in before the flight deadline, you may lose your fare in full. Jetstar has strict check-in and boarding times. Jetstar recommends arriving early to ensure you get through the airport and clear security. Jetstar (JQ) counters open 3 hours before departure (domestic flights departing from international terminals, intra-Asian flights, and international flights) and 2 hours before departure for all other flights.
There are various check-in deadlines, depending on your operating carrier, itinerary, and terminal:
Jetstar (JQ) flights:
- For domestic flights departing from domestic terminals in Australia and New Zealand, please arrive 30 minutes before departure.
- International flights and domestic flights (Australia and New Zealand) departing from international terminals must arrive 45 minutes before departure.
- International flights on Boeing 787 and domestic (Australia and New Zealand) flights departing from international terminals should be cleared 60 minutes before departure.
Jetstar Japan (GK) flights:
- For domestic (Japanese) flights, 30 minutes before departure is recommended.
- 45 minutes before departure – for international flights (except those departing from Shanghai Airport).
- For international flights departing from Shanghai Airport, you must arrive 50 minutes before departure.
Jetstar Pacific (BL) flights:
- For domestic (Vietnam) flights, please arrive 40 minutes before departure.
- 45 minutes prior to departure – for international flights (except flights from Guangzhou).
- At least 60 minutes before departure – for international flights departing from Guangzhou (CAN).
Jetstar Asia (3K) flights:
- International flights – 45 minutes before departure (except flights from Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang).
- At least 50 minutes prior to departure – for international flights departing from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Da Nang (DAD).
Jetstar Online Check-in
Web check-in is available 24 hours before departure. The process ends 60 minutes before departure.
The Jetstar Web check-in steps are as follows:
- Please visit Jetstar Air’s main website (https://www.jetstar.com/) for more information.
- Select Check-in from the menu
- The confirmation number and passenger name should be entered
- Click on the Continue button to continue
- Jetstar offers you the opportunity to download your boarding card.
Jetstar Mobile Check-in
Follow these steps to use Jetstar Air’s mobile check-in service:
- You can access the Jetstar App from your mobile device
- Choose Mobile Check-in from the menu
- Enter your surname and Jetstar flight number
- Follow the instructions on the screen
- The JetStar Air boarding card can now be downloaded or saved to your phone
Check-in at the airport kiosk machine
- The kiosk machine check-in area is located at the airport
- Start the check-in process by touching the kiosk screen
- Please enter your Jetstar flight e-ticket number and last name
- Confirm your check-in details and review your flight details
- Take a printout of your boarding pass
Check-in with Jetstar at the ticket counter
Follow these steps to check in at Jetstar’s ticket counter:
- Find the JetStar ticket counter at the airport.
- Present your Jetstar booking confirmation.
- The agent verified your booking
- Once the check-in request is confirmed, proceed to the next step
- The agent will issue you a boarding pass.
Boarding
At Jetstar’s boarding gate, you must be present:
- 25 minutes before departure – except for domestic flights departing from international airports.
- 40 minutes before departure – both international and domestic flights depart from international terminals.
Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Japan (GK) and Jetstar Pacific (BL) flights close the boarding gate 15 minutes before departure, whereas Jetstar Asia (3K) flights close the gate 10 minutes before departure. If you arrive late at the boarding gate, you may not be able to board the flight and lose your fee.
