Delta Airlines Change Fee

Delta offers passengers the option of making changes to their tickets, but there is a fee associated with it. Depending on the fares and memberships purchased by the passenger, Delta charges different change fees. Using the table below, you will be able to determine how much you have to pay for ticket changes:

By requesting modifications within 24 hours of booking your Delta flight, you can avoid the change fee. But the condition is that the reservation dates must be seven days apart from the departure dates. Alternatively, you can purchase a refundable ticket, since they will be cheaper than other fares.

Delta International Change Fee

For international flights, Delta Flight Change Fees vary depending on the fare type, the destination, and the specific terms and conditions of the ticket. There can be significant differences in fares on international flights, so change fees can vary from $200 to $500 or more per ticket.

Depending on the level of your elite status or your fare class, certain circumstances may qualify you for a fee waiver or reduced charge.

Delta Airlines Same-Day Flight Change Fee

Delta Airlines offers same-day flight changes. Flight changes within 24 hours of your original departure time are considered domestic flights within the United States, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands. Ticket changes are not allowed for some tickets, such as those for Basic Economy and international travel.

During Check-In or using the Fly Delta app, you can make same-day changes. When you make a same-day change, you have two options.

Same-Day Confirmed

Your ticket can be changed to a confirmed seat on a different flight if a seat becomes available in your original fare class.

Fees for same-day confirmed tickets start at $75.
For Diamond, Platinum, & Gold Medallion Members, same-day confirmation is complimentary.

Same-Day Standby

As an alternative, if Same-Day Confirmed is not available, you can wait for a seat on a flight earlier than you originally booked.

Your original flight remains confirmed until you are assigned a seat on an earlier flight

Delta Airlines Cancellation Fees

Passengers can cancel their Delta flight and receive a refund for the ticket amount as per Delta Airlines Cancellation Policy. Delta Cancellation Fees may apply depending on your fare type. Furthermore, passengers can take advantage of rebooking options and refund eligibility through this policy.

Domestic and international flights with Delta Airlines are subject to cancellation fees depending on fares and conditions.

Non-Refundable Ticket: If the flight is canceled, a credit will be issued for the remaining amount minus a cancellation fee of $25 to $500.

Delta Airlines Name Change Fee

Delta Airlines flight name change fees are as follows:

If the name correction is made within 24 hours of booking, there is no change fee.
For a single name change after 24 hours, premium economy tickets will be charged $200 and business class tickets will be charged $100.
For Economy Delight and Premium Economy tickets, name corrections cost $150 and $100, respectively.
No fee is charged to business class ticket holders for name corrections after 24 hours have passed.

Delta Airlines Baggage Fee

As of early March 2024, Delta Airlines quietly increased the baggage fee by $5. For the first bag, your check-in fee is $35, and for the second bag, it is $45. In case you’re flying the airline soon, we’re making sure you don’t miss this announcement.

Although Delta Baggage Fees vary based on where you are traveling, the pricing model is very straightforward. Flying to South America, Asia, Europe, or even Mexico rather than a domestic U.S. route results in higher baggage fees.

Even basic economy fares do not charge for carry-on bags. Like most airlines, Delta limits carry-on bags to one personal item and one overhead item.

For flights to Europe, it is important to note that basic economy fares differ from main cabin fares. The cost of Basic Economy fares to Europe will be $150 for a single checked bag.

Delta Airlines Pet Fee

Recently, Delta Airlines reduced the cost of pet travel. For tickets purchased after Feb. 28, 2022, Delta will charge $95 to fly with a pet within the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. There is a $125 fee for previously purchased flights.

In contrast, international flights cost slightly more. Unless you are flying to or from Brazil, international flights are much more expensive, with a $200 ticket price. In contrast, Delta offers a $75 pet fee for flights to or from Brazil.

Your one-way flight fee will be charged when you check in at the airport.

Delta Airlines Pet Policy allows only one pet. If you intend to travel with a pet, please contact Delta right away.

Finally, Delta partners may have different pet policies, so it’s best to contact them directly if they operate your flight.

Delta Airlines Priority Boarding Fee

On Delta flights, Main Cabin 1 cardholders receive priority boarding, allowing them to board before other economy passengers. Priority boarding means you can find space in the overhead bins for your carry-ons and have a bit of breathing room to relax during the flight.

Domestic Delta Airlines priority boarding fees are $15, and international Delta Airlines priority boarding fees are $50.

Payment of the priority boarding fee can be made online before your flight, onboard your flight, or at the airport. An electronic receipt serves as a boarding pass for online payments. At the airport or online, you can also purchase the priority boarding fee.

At the airport, you will be required to show proof of payment when you board your flight for priority boarding. Delta SkyMiles credit cards can be used instead of cash or credit cards if you have purchased one.
