When traveling with Air New Zealand, how do I check in?
Air New Zealand check-in offers the following self-check-in options to help you through the airport:
- Online check-in.
- Mobile check-in.
- Kiosk for check-in.
When should I check in for my Air New Zealand flight?
If you want to know when to check in, you can check your e-ticket, the Air New Zealand mobile app, or ask your travel agent.
If you are traveling internationally, you must check in 90 minutes before departure. You must check in no later than 2 hours before your flight departs on all flights operating to, through, and from the US. This is for security reasons.
During domestic check-in, if you are traveling with personal baggage, you must check in at least 30 minutes before departure. Checking in later may result in the flight being canceled, so you will have to transfer to another flight. By scanning the barcode on your electronic ticket or your Air NZ mobile app, you can check in at the gate. This is if you don’t have suitcase baggage. At least 20 minutes before your flight’s scheduled departure, you should be at the gate, ready to board.
Whenever a domestic flight departs from an international terminal (such as flight NZ90 from Christchurch to Auckland) or the itinerary includes a connection to an international flight, passengers must check in 60 minutes in advance.
