Air India check-in: Web, Mobile, Kiosk and City

Air India check-in

Air India check-in: how do I do it?

Air India Passengers Have Several Check-In Options:

  • Web Check-in.
  • Mobile Check-in.
  • Kiosk Check-in.
  • City Check-in.

How long should I give myself to check in at the airport?

  • It is possible to check in up to two hours before departure for first and executive-class passengers, up to three hours for economy-class passengers, and up to two hours for domestic passengers. All counters close 45 minutes before departure.
  • For domestic flights departing from an international terminal, as well as for the domestic leg of an international flight, check-in counters close 60 minutes before departure.
  • International travelers must report to the counters at least 3 hours before their scheduled departure, regardless of their ticket type. The time limits were set to allow all passengers to complete all the necessary formalities, from checking in to boarding.

Air India Online Check-in

Check-in online at Air India is available 24 hours before departure, and up to 2 hours before departure for all domestic and international passengers. Air India’s web check-in service lets passengers print out their boarding passes and select their seats through the Air India website. Except for Dammam and Riyadh, all domestic and international Air India flights can be checked-in online.

  • Click on the “Web Check-in” link on Air India’s website.
  • Please enter your booking reference number or e-ticket number as well as your last name.
  • To check in passengers, select them from the list.
  • Select the seat(s) of your choice.
  • Take a picture of your boarding pass and save it to your phone or print it.
  • If you don’t have any bags to check in, proceed directly to security check-in or drop off your checked baggage at the designated counter before going through security.

The restrictions

  • Flyers from Dhaka, codeshare flights, and Alliance Air (AI 9000 series) cannot check-in online.
  • Web Check-in is not available to travelers with disabilities, special requests, or unaccompanied minors.
  • The process of canceling your check-in is not available online. Instead, you should make contact with the airline’s call center, or ask the airline’s staff at the airport counters for assistance.

Air India Mobile check-in

From your mobile phone, download the Air India Mobile App from the App Store for iPhones and Google Play for Androids. You will not only be able to check in for your flight, but you will also be able to choose your seat, check timetable information, and contact Air India’s customer service. Except for codeshare flights and all Alliance Air (AI 9000 series) flights, you may check in for all Air India flights (domestic and international).

At the airport, you can collect your boarding pass printout from the Air India check-in counters.

Check-in via Mobile is not working or failed-

  • Minors who are unaccompanied (UMNR)
  • Requests for extra seats or stretchers.
  • Visually hearing or impaired customers.
  • We provide staff travel discounts, industry discounts, upgrade vouchers, and agent discounts.
  • Bookings made with international credit cards require verification before boarding.
  • Bookings with more than 9 people.

The kiosk check-in

Checking in at self-service kiosks is another fast, easy way to check-in. Unlike Web Check-in and Mobile Check-in, kiosks allow you to print your boarding pass on the spot.

To take advantage of this check-in method, passengers traveling within Domestically (not Alliance Air flights – AI 9000 series) must travel to certain airports. It is still necessary to register your checked luggage, if any, at the Baggage Drop counters after checking in at the kiosk, just like you did with all the other check-in methods.

In-city check-in

Checking in in advance at City Booking Offices, spread throughout metro cities, allows passengers who hold a confirmed booking and travel lightly (with only carry-on luggage) to avoid queues at the airport on departure day and save time. After you have completed your check-in, you can go straight to the airport for the security inspection, and then proceed to the boarding gate afterward. You may only use this type of check-in on domestic flights.

New Delhi Metro Station and Shivaji Stadium Metro Station have been introduced as two new City Check-in with Baggage Drop points for Air India passengers. Among other things, the new facilities include:

  • On all domestic and international flights operated by Air India, Air India Express, and Alliance Air, check in with or without checked baggage and obtain your boarding pass 12 to 2 hours before departure.
  • If your baggage exceeds your free baggage allowance, you will have to pay an excess baggage fee.
  • At T3, I was upgraded to a higher class.
  • Seats of their choice are available.
  • With Web Check-in, passengers can drop off their checked baggage after checking in online.

The boarding pass

  • When traveling domestically, you can print out your boarding pass and take it with you. If you are traveling with just carry-on baggage, the boarding pass printed by Web Check-in will allow you to proceed directly to the airport’s security inspection. It is still necessary to visit the Baggage Drop counter for proper baggage check-in and luggage tags if you have any baggage to check.
  • For international flights, passengers are provided with a confirmation slip – replacing the traditional boarding card. The passengers’ documentation, baggage registration (if any), and confirmation slips will all be verified at the dedicated counters before a boarding pass is issued.
  • In the case of international flights from airports outside India, your Boarding Pass will be issued upon successful completion of Web Check-in (print it or send it to your email address for printing later). When traveling with carry-on baggage only, you can proceed straight through Customs, Immigration, and Security.

AIR INDIA CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • The customer service department of Air India Airlines can assist passengers with a variety of inquiries and concerns. Here are the options:
  • Maharaja Live Chat Support: The airline’s live chat support has been named “Maharaja” in honour of the king.
  • You can connect with airlines via the form. Simply write your question and press submit, and the airlines will respond via email.
  • If you have any questions regarding Air India, you can contact them directly.
  • Get in touch with Air India Airlines agents through LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
