What is the process for checking in for an Aeroflot flight?
Aeroflot Russian check-in offers three options, to prepare yourself for your flight at home or the airport:
- Online check-in.
- Mobile Check-in.
- Self-service check-in.
- Ticket counter for check-in.
Is there a deadline for checking in at the counter and boarding?
- Check-in of passengers and baggage opens at the airport 2 hours before departure time and closes 40 minutes before departure time, with the following exceptions (unless otherwise specified in the individual flight directions):
- There are 60 minutes before departure for flights departing from the US (New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, or Miami), Delhi, Dubai, Tel Aviv, and Shanghai.
- 45 minutes before departure – flights departing from Switzerland (Geneva, Zurich).
- 30 minutes before departure – Aeroflot Shuttle flights (Moscow – Saint Petersburg; Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod).
- The check-in and closing times of airports are subject to change depending on airport technical equipment.
Aeroflot Airlines airport requires the following travel documents:
- A valid passport or government identification card
- Your e-ticket number
- Flight details and Aeroflot flight name
Check-in online
The airline allows passengers to check in online 24 hours to 2 hours before departure. Passengers can check in via the airline’s website using their booking reference or e-ticket number. Upon check-in, passengers can print their boarding pass or bring it with them at the airport as a digital document.

Mobile check-in for Aeroflot Russian Airlines
Aeroflot Russian Mobile Check-in can be accessed via IOS (iPhone) and Android applications, or by accessing www.aeroflot.ru through your phone’s browser. Mobile check-in is available 24 hours and up to 45 minutes before departure.
Aeroflot’s air mobile check-in service involves the following steps:
- Use the Aeroflot App on your mobile device
- Choose Mobile Check-in from the menu
- Enter your surname and Aeroflot flight number
- Please follow the instructions on the screen
- Download your Aeroflot Air Boarding Card or save it to your phone now
Aeroflot Russian Mobile Check-in is not available for group bookings (over 9 people in a group) or passengers traveling with pets or who need additional services (e.g., unaccompanied minor services, accompanying disabled people, etc.).
Passengers will receive a 2D barcode boarding pass via cellular phone after check-in. When departing from most foreign airports, no printed boarding pass is required
At Russian airports, passport control and pre-flight inspection require passengers to have printed boarding passes. Self-service printers are located before passport control desks (for international flights) or pre-flight security checks (for domestic flights) at Sheremetyevo, Pulkovo, Adler (Sochi), Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, and Nizhny Novgorod airports.
